About The Position

The Apprenticeship Program Instructor will be responsible for implementing and overseeing training sessions for apprentices in the Electrical trade. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the trade, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for teaching and mentoring. The instructor will play a crucial role in ensuring that apprentices gain the technical skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen field. This position reports to the Director, Workforce Development and Continuing Education.

• Knowledge of College mission, policies, procedures, and services.
• Strong student orientation and ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Proficient in use of technology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Ability to perform necessary math calculations.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Ability to successfully complete NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP).
• Understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Access/Equal Opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive training for apprentices using the National Center for Construction Education and Research materials provided.
• Evaluate apprentice performance and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
• Select appropriate materials and equipment for discipline or program use and ensure proper care and safety in their use.
• Proctor NCCER module exams and facilitate performance profiles for apprentices.
• Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and best practices to enhance training offerings.
• Collaborate with community partners to ensure training programs meet industry workforce needs.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the apprenticeship program and make recommendations for improvements.
• Promote the College's recruitment and retention efforts when appropriate.
• Additional duties as assigned.
