Position Title: Instructor, Computer Science Job Summary: The College of Lake County (CLC) is seeking an Instructor, Computer Science for the instruction of first and second-year college-level courses to a diverse student body at our Grayslake, Lakeshore, and Southlake campuses as well as local business, community, and industry partners. This position will be involved in the instruction of first- and second-year college level courses in Computer Science a diverse student body in a variety of modalities including in-person, blended, and fully online. Classes with an in-person component may meet during daytime, evening, and possibly Saturday classes at our main campus, extension sites and local business and industry sites. The Computer Science Department at the College of Lake County supports students in pursuing their interest in computing through Associate of Science (A.S.) and Associate of Engineering Science (A.E.S.) degrees that provide a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals. Most students continue their education by transferring to a four-year, bachelor’s degree–granting institution. The department emphasizes problem-solving, algorithmic thinking, and critical reasoning while developing essential programming and software design skills. This dynamic and cutting-edge field is driven by innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, continually evolving as new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, transform how problems are solved.
