About The Position

The Instructor for Community Recreation will lead high-energy indoor cycling classes in both in-person and virtual formats, promoting cardiovascular health, endurance, and motivation. The instructor will design dynamic workouts tailored to various fitness levels, incorporating music, pacing, and performance tracking. This position requires current certifications in indoor cycling and related fields.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Certifications/licenses, as applicable by discipline.
  • Required CPR/first aid certifications.
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience.
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental subject area concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of the class.
  • Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with community-based instruction.
  • Professional presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides instruction to students and community members.
  • Develops and presents the department with a curriculum that provides students with a full experience and is structured to accommodate all fitness levels.
  • Sets up in preparation for and cleans up after each class.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Set Rate of Pay: $30.00/hour.
  • Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position.
