You’ll be responsible for providing career technical training instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.

Requirements

• Valid, active, and in good standing California RN or LVN license required.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (RN or LVN), one (1) year as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care hospice care or other long-term care setting.
• Completion of a course in teaching adults; or completion of a course approved by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) or by an accredited educational institution; or BRN continuing education course certificate used to meet this requirement must comply with the requirements found in 16 CCR, 1450 et seq.
• Must be able to be approved by the California's Dept. of Public Health as a Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) instructor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead instructor for the office assistant career technical training (CTT) program.
• Provide assistance to the CTT manager to ensure the required delivery of services are provided.
• Provide assistance in the projection, recordkeeping of student progress, credentialing and course completion.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes to achieve center goals.
• Maintain copy center and front office mockup assignments and activities.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
• Participate in the selection of, develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• In coordination with work-based learning (WBL) staff; develop work based training sites on center, in the community and at home-based sites; monitor and document student progress at work based training sites monthly.
• Participate in activities associated with the intellectual and social development of students.
• Control use of equipment and supplies; make minor repairs; recommend purchases.
• Administer and correct tests; maintain Training Achievement Records (TARs) and attendance reports.
