The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position at Missouri State University focused on teaching full-time in the Biomedical Science field. The role involves instructing undergraduate students in large general education courses as well as specialized upper-division laboratory courses. The instructor is expected to engage in service to the university and community while promoting inclusive teaching practices and supporting student success.

  • Teach full-time in undergraduate Life Sciences general education courses, both lecture and lab.
  • Instruct upper-division Molecular Cell Biology laboratory courses.
  • Advise and support undergraduate students.
  • Participate in service to the school, college, university, and community.
  • Engage in research or creative activities as appropriate.
  • An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines.
  • Potential or demonstrated teaching ability.
  • Willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • A master's degree (or completed master's coursework and be ABT) in cellular and molecular biology or a closely related field.
  • Ability to teach large undergraduate Life Sciences general education courses (greater than 100 students).
  • Potential for application of innovative, learner-centered pedagogy.
  • Interest in mentoring and supporting a diverse student population.
