About the position
As assistant professor of chemistry, this position is responsible for teaching both major and non-major courses within the chemistry and biology programs, advising, directing undergraduate research and conducting committee work as assigned. Area of expertise is open.
Responsibilities
- Teach 27 hours, as assigned, annually within the Department of Biological, Physical, and Human Sciences
- Serve as the academic advisor for departmental majors
- Develop and mentor an undergraduate research team within the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Experience
- Serve on university committees as assigned
- Attend daily Chapel
- Participate in university recruitment activities
- This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. This position may temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
Requirements
- Masters degree in chemistry or related discipline is required
- Doctoral degree is preferred
- Position rank will be based on degree and experience
