About The Position

The PA Program within the Department of Medical Education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor Responsibilities include year-round teaching, assessment, and advisement of physician assistant students in the didactic (primary) and clinical phases of the curriculum. Additionally, the faculty member will participate in the admissions process, as well as ongoing program evaluation and planning. All faculty participate in the continuous review, analysis, and evaluation of the program's success as related to accreditation. The faculty member will be expected to be actively involved in scholarship and professional development. The faculty member who fills this role will also be expected to assume responsibilities associated with the program's clinical training curriculum. These responsibilities may include the development, implementation, and/or analysis of students' clinical rotation training. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled. Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates will hold a masters or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited university in an area appropriate to PA education.
  • The candidate will be a graduate of an accredited PA program, or school of medicine.
  • The successful candidate will hold national certification and be eligible for licensure to practice in Illinois.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated teaching experience in a college/university-based PA program.
  • Experience in problem-based learning is desirable.
