About The Position

Adhere to and publicly support college policies and procedures. Plan and present course instruction based on approved syllabi to assure course objectives are taught in classroom, lab, and clinical settings through a variety of instructional methodology, reinforced through relevant assignments, and assessed through well-designed evaluation tools. Schedule and maintain weekend clinical rotation with various facilities. Accept responsibility for the recruitment, retention, and placement of students. Maintain and submit required documentation in compliance with state and national accreditation standards. Assist with student registration and orientation, serving primarily as an advisor. Participate in in-service workshops, departmental meetings, etc. as scheduled. Participate in the college's ongoing Institutional Effectiveness process, including annual evaluations and reviews, strategic planning, surveys, professional development, etc. Full job description available upon hiring.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) preferred. Equivalent Education, related work experience, demonstrated competencies in the discipline, and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes will be considered.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in the state of Mississippi.
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in nursing practice.
  • Ability to provide physical and psychological support to students and patients.
  • Proficient in clinical skills.
  • Ability to critically think and communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications, including database management.
  • Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments, including maintaining confidentiality.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in Mississippi.

  • Recent teaching experience in RN education preferred.
  • Applicants with community college teaching experience preferred.
