About The Position

The Ceramic Arts Instructor teaches handbuilding and/or wheel throwing techniques to diverse students in mixed-level classes. The instructor provides high quality, individualized, and group instruction to support students with beginning, intermediate, and advanced skills. The instructor also contributes to a studio that is a collegial and creative gathering space for potters of all skill levels and serves as an inspiring presence to students who are developing their craft. The role requires collaboration with internal and external customers and working closely with EA Art School faculty and staff to enhance the learning experience. The instructor is expected to have expertise in teaching various ceramic techniques, including handbuilding and wheel throwing, and to communicate effectively with students and faculty. They will design and teach 10-week courses, maintain studio organization and cleanliness, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Additionally, the instructor will promote sustainable art practices and develop professional relationships within the community.
