About The Position

The JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) Army Instructor (AI) will assist the Senior Army Instructor (SAI) as the institutional leader in managing and conducting the JROTC program in accordance with United States Army Cadet Command (USACC) regulatory guidelines and school district rules, regulations, and policies. The position is located at West High School and is set to begin in August 2025. The instructor will be responsible for providing classroom instruction to cadets as established within the curriculum's program of instruction (POI) as provided by USACC and school district guidelines and policies. The instructor must also adhere to APS JROTC established operating procedures relating to administration, control, and training of cadets.

Requirements

• Must possess at least a BA/BS degree.
• Must be certified by the U.S. Army Cadet Command.
• Must meet Army JROTC height/weight/body fat standards.
• Must maintain high standards of military bearing, appearance, and moral character.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Army Instructor (SAI) in managing and conducting the JROTC program.
• Provide classroom instruction to cadets as per the curriculum's program of instruction (POI).
• Adhere to APS JROTC established operating procedures.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining viable extra-curricular activities such as Color Guards, Drill Teams, Raider Teams, Rifle Teams, Orienteering Teams, and Academic Teams.
