About the position

The Instructor for After School Programs at Brains and Motion Education (BAM!) is responsible for leading and inspiring students in various STEAM and sports-related activities. This part-time role focuses on fostering creativity, teamwork, and personal growth among students aged 4 to 18, while providing a fun and engaging learning environment. The instructor will implement BAM!'s programs, which include coding, robotics, creative arts, and various sports, ensuring that each child can progress at their own pace.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire students in a variety of STEAM and/or Sports-related activities.
• Teach the fundamentals of various activities, from basic to advanced levels.
• Foster a positive and collaborative environment, instilling valuable lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Implement BAM! STEAM/Sports Programs, including Python & Scratch Coding, Robotics, LEGO Robotics, Math, Literacy, Creative Writing, Digital Arts, Game Design, Creative Arts, Music, Animation, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Street Hockey, Flag Football, Cheerleading, and more.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in STEM, Arts, and/or Sports subject areas.
• A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring.
• Excellent class management skills and the ability to work effectively with students in grades K-8.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license or State ID.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 20-50 lbs. occasionally.

Nice-to-haves

• Coaching or teaching experience is highly encouraged.
