The Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery has an opening for a full time Inpatient Orthoplastic and Hand faculty position at the rank of Instructor or Senior Instructor. This is a clinical position under the direction of a faculty plastic surgeon. This position provides inpatient and outpatient medical care services at The University of Colorado Hospital. Orthoplastics is the multidisciplinary management of complex patient injuries. This includes management of extremity injuries that may require multiple surgeries (debridement, bony fixation, flaps/grafting, nerve repair, targeted muscle reinnervation, osseointegraion, and amputation). The candidate will be expected to provide independent clinical services for Orthoplastic and Hand surgical patients and act as a physician extender for inpatient rounding, inpatient care oversight, and consult evaluation. The candidate would also have outpatient clinics at the Anschutz Medical Campus Plastic Surgery office. The ideal candidate will be energetic and motivated to be an integral part of the team. Close collaboration with the surgeons, residents, hospital and clinical staff will be necessary. Prior experience or work with residents would be preferred. Eligibility for prescriptive authority is required.
