About The Position

As an Academic Lab Instructor in the Math Center, you will assist with answering students' math questions on a drop-in basis. Students who visit the Math Center may be enrolled in classes that range from Introductory Algebra to Differential Equations, with the majority of students being in College Algebra. SELECTION PROCESS: This is an open talent pool. Applicants will be contacted based on the needs of the College. Please note: You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment. Also, Front Range Community College is an E-Verify employer. The selection process for the Academic Lab Instructor will be conducted through a competitive, merit-based evaluation of all qualified applicants. Consideration will be based on the completed application packaged submitted by the candidate. Part-time hours and schedule are somewhat variable per semester and cannot exceed 28 hours per week.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field, in alignment with the requirements for teaching Mathematics courses at FRCC.

Responsibilities

• Greet students as they enter the Math Center and introduce them to the tutor(s) on duty who can assist them with their questions.
• Ensure students sign in and sign out to help keep track of traffic in the Math Center at different times and days throughout the semester.
• Work alongside another instructor and/or student hourly to answer students' math questions from a wide range of courses.
• Submit bi-weekly timesheets to report hours worked in the Math Center, as well as leave requests for any absences that occur.
• Report any concerns or incidents to the Math Center Coordinator, looping in the ASC front desk or Campus Security as appropriate.
