About The Position

The Instructional Support Teacher Leader (ISTL) at Chester Upland School District is responsible for collaborating with educators to enhance instructional practices, analyze data for focused instruction, and implement district initiatives, including the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). The role aims to improve academic outcomes for all students, particularly those with diverse learning needs, by providing in-class support, modeling effective teaching strategies, and engaging in professional development activities.

Requirements

  • SAS Classroom management Teaching Certification
  • 1 year of mid-level classroom experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated effective instruction for at least three years
  • Knowledge of system-wide literacy initiatives
  • Excellent record of attendance and punctuality over the past three years

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support to improve implementation of Pennsylvania Core Standards and Chester Upland School District's Curriculum Maps.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet the mission and goals of the instructional program.
  • Provide in-class support to model and demonstrate components of the curriculum and lessons aligned to PA Core Standards.
  • Support the implementation of best practices in Literacy, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Engage in one-to-one and small group presentations for instructional components and assessment practices.
  • Support programs that meet the instructional needs of all students, including special education and gifted education.
  • Support the implementation of programs for English Language Learners and cultural diversity.
  • Communicate ideas regarding instructional initiatives and monitor student reading progress.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to develop and support curriculum initiatives.
  • Document support in weekly logs submitted to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret instructional and assessment data to inform practices and professional development.
  • Develop rapport with instructional leaders to support implementation of instructional priorities and academic achievement.
  • Collaborate with school leadership teams and professional learning teams to support student achievement.
