About The Position
The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary Holy Cross Academy is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and faith‑filled Instructional Support Specialist to provide targeted academic and behavioral support to students under the direction of classroom teachers and school administration. The Instructional Support Specialist works with individual students and small groups to reinforce instruction, promote student growth, and support a positive, Christ‑centered learning environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in an educational or support setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, flexible, and professional demeanor
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree or coursework in education, child development, or related field
- Experience supporting students with learning differences or behavioral needs
- Previous experience in a classroom or instructional support role
- Practicing Catholic or willingness to support Catholic faith practices
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to students individually and in small groups
- Reinforce classroom lessons as directed by teachers and support staff
- Assist with academic interventions in reading, math, and other core subjects
- Support students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual development
- Implement accommodations and strategies outlined in student support plans
- Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful learning environment
- Assist teachers with classroom organization, materials, and supervision as needed
- Communicate effectively with teachers and administration regarding student progress or concerns
- Model Christian values and support the mission of Catholic education
- Follow all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and confidentiality expectations
