About The Position

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Instructional Support Associate (SL-2) position in the Mechanical Energy Technology Department beginning January 5, 2026.

Requirements

• Proven record of successful maintenance of automotive or related equipment.
• Organizational skills, ability to receive inventory and parts.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, have good people skills, and a willingness to learn and stay current in the automotive industry.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in the automotive or related field.
• Three years' experience with repair work.
• ASE certifications are encouraged but can be earned while working.
• NYS Inspector's License but can be earned while working.

Responsibilities

• Maintain automotive laboratory equipment in working order.
• Order supplies.
• Assist faculty and students during lab periods.
• Consult with suppliers.
• Ensure equipment standards.
• Support other academic needs assigned by the supervisor and the faculty.
• Welding laboratory stocking, organization, and maintenance.
