About The Position

The position is for an Instructional Student Assistant in the Department of English at Cal Poly Humboldt. Responsibilities may include grading and other forms of instructional support. The role requires the ability to learn and perform assigned work, work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students, and accept responsibility. Specific coursework completion may be required to teach, grade, or tutor a course.

Requirements

• Admission or registration as a Humboldt student
• Eligibility for the Federal Work-Study Program
• Completion of ENGL 102/103, ENGL 104 or equivalent writing course with a grade of B or better

Nice To Haves

• Currently enrolled undergraduate English majors or graduate students in the M.A. English program
• Experience in tutoring, reading, facilitating discussion, and/or writing
• Demonstrated understanding of antiracist and inclusive classroom practices
