About The Position

The Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeing undergraduate and graduate students to serve as department tutors who can assist students enrolled in the introductory physics courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have strong math backgrounds and are able to tutor within the full range of undergraduate physics courses. The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating and innovative academic environment that embraces diversity, offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Physics, with minors in astronomy and applied physics, and an interdisciplinary M.S. degree in Materials Science, which is associated with the Center for Advanced Functional Materials ( https://materials.csusb.edu ). We are particularly interested in receiving applications from all groups historically underrepresented in Physics/Astronomy and STEM fields, including intersections across multiple groups.

Requirements

  • Must have received a B+ or better in PHYS 2500/2510 or equivalent courses.
  • Applicants should be STEM major majors with excellent understanding of math and physics concepts and pedagogy.
