About The Position

San Diego Miramar College, a student-ready college, invites all qualified candidates to apply for the position of Instructional Lab Technician for the Child Development Department. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly qualified and highly knowledgeable in the field of child development and deeply committed to student success. Additionally, candidates should be able to demonstrate ways they will develop tools and resources to better serve underprivileged and disproportionately impacted students. Requirements

  • Expertise in current best practices and emerging trends in Early Childhood Education and Child Development.
  • Experience and/or willingness to mentor Child Development college students.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
  • Knowledge of Title 5 and Title 22 regulations, state-funded programs, and accreditation standards.
  • Competency in utilizing computer software and hardware for educational purposes.

  • Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in outdoor classroom experiences and play-based learning.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and nutritional requirements for young children.

Responsibilities

  • Support diverse student populations and child development programs.
  • Develop tools and resources to better serve historically marginalized and minoritized populations.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
  • Design, develop, and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curricula.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping and assessment methods.
