Temple University College of Public Health invites applications for an instructional faculty in Health Informatics to join us in spring or fall 2024. The position seeks faculty with a strong record of college teaching, including demonstrated versatility in teaching various courses, including but not limited to the areas of computer programming such as Python and R, health application development, health data management and SQL, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Clinical Decision Support Systems, and Capstone Project Mentoring. The faculty member will also participate in recruiting and reviewing applications for graduate student admissions, attending monthly health informatics meetings, and be active in health informatics program improvement and curriculum development.

  • Teach various courses in Health Informatics, including programming, health application development, and data management.
  • Participate in recruiting and reviewing applications for graduate student admissions.
  • Attend monthly health informatics meetings.
  • Contribute to health informatics program improvement and curriculum development.
  • Earned doctorate (PhD or MD) in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science, Data Science, or other relevant STEM discipline.
  • Strong technical application development skills in R or Python.
  • Demonstrated record of relevant teaching experience.
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated Health Informatics professionals with skills in explaining Health Information Technology, Machine Learning, and Data Mining.
  • Terminal MS degree with strong technical programming skills.
  • Experience in AI/ML/NLP.
