Provide guidance and support to teachers and teams in the area of instructional planning and delivery across all content areas. Serves as a leader and expert in the instructional planning process with a focus on using the instructional framework and alignment to standards. Empowers teams to engage in A Cycle That Works, an ongoing process that includes unpacking standards, framing learning objectives, developing common assessments, analyzing student data, facilitating data-driven conversations, and planning responsive instruction and curriculum. Partners with teachers and administrators to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all students. Supports teachers in a variety of ways, such as collaborative planning, team and individual coaching, modeled lessons, co-teaching, observations, co-planning, and constructive feedback. Provides teachers with feedback and resources that will improve their practice and support the needs of their students. Participates in and/or facilitates professional learning communities with the goal of improving and sustaining student achievement. Supports teams in the interpretation of ongoing assessment data to drive instructional decision making. Collaborates with teachers to plan for differentiation, scaffolding, and inclusive instruction. Remains current with educational trends, instructional techniques, collaborative strategies, and high-impact facilitation methods to determine the most effective ways to support teachers in planning and delivering instruction. Leverages division resources, educational models, teaching methods, and strategies that ensure access, learning, and achievement for all students. Promotes and sustains collaborative relationships with teachers, specialists, supervisors, and administrators through effective communication. Serves as a liaison between the Office of Professional Learning, schools, colleagues, and other departments/offices (i.e. Curriculum & Instruction, Accountability, Student Services) to ensure alignment and effective implementation of key priorities throughout the division. Supports the MCPS Professional Learning Plan by designing, facilitating, refining, and evaluating ongoing professional learning based on division priorities and school needs. Uses effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. Maintains confidentiality in professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, administrators, and community members. Completes paperwork consistently, appropriately and in a timely manner. Models being a lifelong learner by participating in professional learning opportunities that are aligned to the goals of this position. Performs other duties as assigned.
