The Instructional Design Technologist position at Kutztown University is a full-time remote role focused on enhancing the training and instructional design for SAP business processes within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create effective training materials and ensure the successful adoption of SAP systems across the state. The position requires a strong background in instructional design, adult learning principles, and the ability to assess and improve training programs.

  • Consult with SAP business analysts and functional program leads to provide instructional design expertise during the exploration, planning, and design of State System SAP business processes modernization.
  • Create training materials, including online learning modules, user guides, job aids, and live training sessions to ensure standardized adoption and optimized usage of SAP.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Build capacity and skills of staff and university partners to produce learning experiences through various instructional methods.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best and emerging practices in online instruction and present these practices to internal and external audiences.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics, adjusting content as necessary for continuous improvement.
  • Track and analyze training completion rates, engagement levels, and learning outcomes to measure program effectiveness.
  • Modernize existing IT Shared Services SAP documentation and user guides.
  • Collaborate with SAP subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of training programs.
  • Facilitate training sessions for end users both remotely and in person.
  • Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • A bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in developing online instruction, adult learning principles, and training from design through development and delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and business-related processes.
  • Application software skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Microsoft SharePoint, and collaborative software (Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis and configuration tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in business process modeling and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to organize and document work.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in an open team remote work environment.
  • Highly motivated with an appetite for knowledge and continued learning.
  • A master's degree (or pursuit of a master's) in instructional design.
  • Experience working as an instructional designer.
  • Experience with PASSHE.
  • Experience with adult learning.
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools.
  • Experience with SAP software (ECC, HANA, Ariba, Concur, SuccessFactors).
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite of products (Office365, SharePoint).
  • Experience in continuing and professional education, higher education, and project management.
