The Instructional Design Intern plays a key role in supporting our experienced Instructional Designers in developing and refining impactful learning experiences. This position is ideal for someone early in their instructional design career who is ready to contribute full-time, is passionate about learning technologies, and has emerging expertise in AI and graphic design. This role will be based in either Indianapolis, IN or Fargo, ND with limited travel. No relocation is available.   • Assist with course development using tools like Articulate 360, Rise, and Canva
  • Support learning experience designers with asset creation, multimedia development, and quality assurance
  • Apply graphic design principles to enhance learner engagement and visual consistency
  • Integrate emerging AI tools to streamline content creation, accessibility, or learner personalization
  • Organize and maintain content repositories, templates, and job aids
  • Assist with collecting and analyzing learning feedback and performance data
  • Contribute to internal L&D team projects, brainstorming sessions, and innovation pilots
  • Attend team meetings and collaborate across functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Instructional Designers and the broader training team
  • Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Education, Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Experience (internships, freelance, academic projects, or entry-level roles) in instructional design or multimedia content creation
  • Portfolio or examples of work/school projects demonstrating learning design and/or graphic or AI-enhanced assets strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
  • Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL·E, Synthesia, or text-to-video/voice tech) and their application in instructional design
  • Strong visual design and layout skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Workspace
  • Comfortable working in remote, collaborative digital environments (e.g., Zoom, Slack, ClickUp, SharePoint)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • A growth mindset, open to feedback and continuous learning

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of managing full-time hours remotely
