About The Position

To provide coordination and facilitation of best practice staff development, training and ongoing support for teachers with the goal of expanding proficiency, creating classroom instructional excellence and improving the overall performance of junior high students. The coordinator will also provide technical support to collaborative teams as they respond to the needs of student learning in our junior high schools. This position will be re-evaluated from year to year based on availability of Title 1 funds.

Requirements

Appropriate certification for grade level of assignment.
Extensive and successful experience in effective instruction in the classroom.
Successful experience in working collegially with teachers.
Highly motivated, well-organized, excellent communicator.

Nice To Haves

Successful experience as a staff developer is desirable.

Responsibilities

Research and provide content knowledge and resources to staff about learning and teaching core content areas including: teaching strategies assessment of student skills interpretation of assessment data; etc. RtI
Research and prepare professional development materials for the use by the district, schools, and teachers including: teaching strategies assessment of student skills interpretation of assessment data; etc. RtI
Research and provide information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative core content area practices through various activities such as: individual discussions (informal and formal) coaching sessions demonstration lessons with pre- and post-discussion/analysis PLC planning & staff meetings professional development programs interpretation of assessment data; etc. RtI
Supervise assigned teacher aide(s).
