The Instructional Coach at the National Children's Center, Inc. plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of early childhood education by facilitating the effective implementation of the organization's Core Features and evidence-based instructional practices. This position is designed to provide educational staff with the necessary instructional leadership through the design, delivery, and coordination of intensive professional development programs. The Instructional Coach is responsible for fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among staff, ensuring that the educational programming for children ages birth to three is of the highest quality. The outcomes of the Instructional Coach's work are reflected in exemplary classroom quality, improved teacher-child interactions, and increased staff retention. In this role, the Instructional Coach will lead the design and implementation of professional development initiatives aimed at building the core competencies of the Education staff. This includes providing reflective supervision to Classroom Teachers, implementing coaching schedules, facilitating lesson study strategies, and coordinating reflective practice groups. The Instructional Coach will also oversee the education program for young children, ensuring that the curriculum is responsive, intentional, and developmentally appropriate. This involves using child screening and assessment data to inform lesson planning and individualization of instruction. Collaboration is a key component of this position, as the Instructional Coach will work closely with various program areas and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to child development and learning. This includes engaging with families, participating in child reviews, and leading teams to implement targeted interventions for children displaying challenging behaviors. The Instructional Coach will also be involved in policy development and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding educational practices and staff recruitment.
