About The Position

The Instructional Assistant position at Leading Edge Academy is designed to support teachers and enhance student learning in a technology-enriched environment. This role involves working closely with students to reinforce skills, assist with classroom activities, and contribute to a safe and effective learning atmosphere. The position is full-time for the 2024-2025 school year at the Maricopa Campus.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid IVP Clearance Card at time of starting position
• Sped experience preferred
• 60+ college credit hours preferred but not required
• Previous school experience preferred

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a classroom setting for at least 1 year

Responsibilities

• Work in close proximity with assigned teacher and students
• Assist students, individually or in groups, to reinforce skills and/or oversee learning activities
• Follow specific functions as outlined in a written plan to supplement classroom instruction
• Assist with classroom computer instruction
• Participate in professional development (site/district) to enhance ability to support student achievement
• Assist students with various testing activities
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
• Supervise students during playground/recess and lunch periods
• Participate in pick up and drop off activities
• Various clerical duties related to classroom activities
• Other duties as assigned by Principal or supervisor
