About The Position

Staff members in this position provide assistance to the classroom teacher and facilitate pupil instruction. Employees in this position work to provide necessary instruction, training, services and individual attention to pupils. The assistant is monitored by the teacher in charge of the class, who, with their supervisor, reviews the work through observation and conferences.

Requirements

• A minimum of two years of college in the education field OR High school diploma with three years experience working in education related field will be accepted

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to student in education classrooms in completing tasks assigned by teachers
• Assist the teacher in observing, recording and charting behavior
• Supervise child in the hallway, lunchroom and playground
• Observe behavior and carries out behavior management activities
