About The Position

We are seeking an Instructional Assistant who will work along side our current Instructional Leader and Instructional Assistant to supervise the daily activities of the participants of the DREAM program. Our Instructional Assistant will work with individuals with all types of developmental disabilities with the aim of assisting the individual to be successful in the DREAM program. The Instructional Assistant will positively impact student success by playing a key role in ensuring that students receive exceptional care and support through authentic engagement. We are currently seeking Instructional Assistant supports in the following areas: Attend to the daily needs of students on an individual and group basis ages 17-35 Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures Provide opportunities for leisure activities and foster independence in the choice and participation of those activities Completes appropriate visit records by the end of each shift Adapt and modify activities in efforts to better serve the group Ensure participant safety in the center and community Provide ongoing support, guidance, role modeling and supervision to students Provide a supportive environment that includes opportunities for students to determine personal preferences for daily schedules and routines Maintain knowledge of on-going issues and developments as well as informing supervisor of issues and concerns Provide transportation to community events by way of the Embracing Abilities van Implement a scheduled curriculum with the students to address certain goal areas Characteristics of the desired applicant: Independent Friendly Compassionate Eager and Willing to Learn New Skills Teamwork skills Timely and Detail Oriented Flexible with Scheduling and Availability Communication skills Instructional Skills Adaptability Technology Use (Google, email, general web usage) Minimum one year of experience working with the IDD population. Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Auto Insurance Card
  • Social Security Card/Passport or Other Approved Identification Verification Document
  • Resume
  • Diploma/Transcript
  • Tuberculosis Screening (Negative)
  • CPR/First Aid Card (Front and Back) – Must Be An IN PERSON Certification
  • County Criminal History Record from each county of residence and or employment from the last 3 years. (This can be obtained from the local Sheriff’s Department)
  • State (Limited) Criminal History Report
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Available Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:45am-3:30pm
  • Minimum one year of experience working with the IDD population.
