About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialized one-on-one services to an individual special education student. The assistant will be responsible for assisting a certificated teacher by providing instructional support and childcare activities as prescribed. Employees in this classification receive direct to general supervision from a certificated teacher within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree or higher, or 48 college units, or passed the No Child Left Behind exam.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification.

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one specialized services to a special education student.
• Assist a certificated teacher in instructional support activities.
