The Department of Special Education invites a pool of qualified persons interested in non-tenure-track teaching positions (part-time or full time) in anticipation of possible openings throughout the 2024-2025 academic year and summer sessions. The Department emphasizes excellence in teaching and seeks energetic and knowledgeable instructors who will teach students pursuing a special education major or minor. We seek individuals with expertise to teach undergraduate courses (face-to-face and online) in one or more of the following areas: introduction to special education; early childhood /early intervention; education of learners with extensive support needs; transition from school to adulthood in special education; class-wide and individualized behavior supports; assistive technology; and bilingual/ESL special education. Applicants with expertise and experience in these subdisciplines are encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted continuously for non-tenure-track positions and reviewed as vacancies become available. There may not be an actual vacancy at the time you apply. These positions are represented by the Illinois State University Education Association and may have associated dues or fees.
