The School of Applied Sciences at The University of Mississippi is seeking applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor position in the Department of Social Work at the Tupelo Campus. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track position. The successful candidate may begin as early as August 2026. Applicants must have a Master of Social Work (MSW), hold or be eligible for social work licensure (LMSW or LCSW) in the State of Mississippi, and have at least two years of social work practice experience beyond their MSW. Candidates with a history of developing and teaching at the higher education level are preferred. The successful candidate will primarily teach courses in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program on the Tupelo Campus with some undergraduate and/or graduate teaching assignments on the main campus in Oxford or other regional campuses (https://www.outreach.olemiss.edu/regional/). In addition, the candidates may have opportunities to teach in the online Master of Social Work (MSW) program that is currently under development. The hire will maintain expertise in assigned areas of teaching, involvement in research/community engagement/scholarship sufficient to be recognized as graduate teaching faculty, assist with student recruitment, retention, and graduation. In addition, the hire will develop and/or teach undergraduate and/or graduate online courses and serve on various departmental committees.
