About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for an Instructional Assistant Professor of Biology - Anatomy & Physiology to begin Fall 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas, a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250,000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery, teaching and learning, community engagement and public service, and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. This is an Instructional Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track, 9-month position). Primary duties will include teaching introductory and upper-level courses for the biology program, including Human Anatomy and Physiology for pre-Nursing students. Instructional Assistant Professors at TAMIU receive a standard load of 15 credit hours a semester which may be reduced contingent upon needs and approvals. Biology and Chemistry is searching for candidates who have a robust commitment to hands-on undergraduate biology education. Duties also include service to the department, college and university as needed, and active participation in department, college, and university initiatives. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline.
  • Background in Anatomy and Physiology is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities
