About The Position

The College of Engineering and Technology at Grand Canyon University is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Teaching Assistant for the Engineering Math course. This role is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about engaging and mentoring students, helping them to prepare for the evolving fields of IT and Engineering. The position requires a commitment to fostering academic, spiritual, and personal growth among students, while also contributing to a collaborative and supportive educational environment. The Teaching Assistant will be expected to work face-to-face on the main campus in Phoenix, AZ, during the course dates from January 5, 2026, to April 26, 2026.

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution on date of application submission
  • Must have sufficient courses in Engineering or Applied Mathematics

Responsibilities

  • Equipping students with the required skill set
  • Facilitating classroom discussions
  • Assessing student performance
  • Preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession
  • Assisting instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations
  • Observing students' performance and recording relevant data to aid instructor in assessing progress
  • Coordinating study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material
  • Facilitating additional ad hoc lectures as a refresher to classroom formal lecture
  • Assisting with grading assignments
  • Proctoring occasional make-up examinations/assignments
  • Providing a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
