This role ensures that students remain engaged, supported, and on track for academic success in an online learning environment. The salary will be spread over 12 months. The University of Texas-University Charter School is a public charter school and follows all state and federal regulations for public school services. The University of Texas-University Charter School is a part of the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Education. A candidate for this position will need to have a level III Educational Aide certification or be willing to complete within the first 90 days of employment. Purpose Assist classroom teacher with instruction and supervision of students.

  • Student Management & Support
  • Manage an assigned caseload of online students.
  • Enroll new students into assigned online courses and ensure they have proper access.
  • Review student records and verify required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Track student progress using the district’s online platforms and reporting tools.
  • Make weekly contact with students and parents/guardians to support engagement and academic success.
  • Track and follow up with students who have not logged in or who show signs of disengagement.
  • Instructional Support & Grading
  • Grade student work and assignments in a timely manner (within 24–48 hours).
  • Support students in assigned tutoring sessions or tutoring room locations at designated times.
  • Close out completed classes and ensure grades and completion records are properly submitted.
  • Academic Reporting & Documentation
  • Update student report cards with grades at the end of each six-week grading period.
  • Complete and submit progress reports according to district timelines.
  • Complete and archive IEP progress reports for students receiving special education services.
  • Archive IEP service logs every two weeks, ensuring documentation is compliant and up-to-date.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation for each student, including communication logs, progress tracking, and course completion.
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development as assigned.
  • Support the teacher(s) of record and case managers with required documentation and compliance tasks.
  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working in an educational setting or with online programs preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to monitor multiple students and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of online learning platforms and basic technology skills.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • At least two years of experience working with special needs students.
