About The Position

Notre Dame Catholic School is seeking a full-time Instructional Teaching Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This role provides valuable classroom experience in a supportive, faith- based environment. The Instructional Teaching Assistant will work closely with a lead teacher to support lesson delivery, provide small-group instruction, and assist with behavior management to create a positive and engaging learning space. This position provides an opportunity for growth as qualified Instructional Teaching Assistants are given first consideration should a teaching vacancy occur. Job Duties Work with the classroom teacher, when directed, to assist students to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on his/her own by doing the following: o Clarifying and explaining instructions o Ensuring that students can use equipment and materials provided o Motivating and encouraging student(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks as appropriate to students needs Consistently and effectively implement agreed behavior management strategies Help to make appropriate resources to support student learning Work with small groups of students for remediation or enrichment at the discretion of the classroom teacher Attend monthly meetings after school from 3:30 to 4:30 on last Thursday of the month. Assist the classroom teacher in creation of materials needed for classroom lessons Supervise during lunch, recess, and dismissal/arrival as designated by the teacher

Requirements

  • Experience in a classroom setting or a degree in education
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Pass a Level II background screening before employment

Responsibilities
