NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Manager to join their team. This position is integral to the management of IRB submissions and processes related to the RECOVER study. The IRB Manager will report to the Senior Scientific Manager of Human Research Protections and will serve as a key point of contact for the RECOVER NYU study team and all relying site investigators. The role involves facilitating the IRB review process for both study-wide and site-specific submissions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. The IRB Manager will conduct comprehensive pre-reviews and post-reviews of RECOVER study-wide submissions, including modifications, continuations, and reportable new information. They will evaluate submission materials for consistency with IRB requirements, working closely with researchers to address any deficiencies prior to board review. The Manager will also be responsible for writing clear and concise responses to review issues, liaising with affiliate research committees, and supervising IRB meetings, including member attendance and agenda preparation. In addition to these responsibilities, the IRB Manager will attend board meetings as a voting member when necessary, record vote counts, and document all controverted issues and their resolutions. They will generate board determination letters and manage correspondence for federal reporting, ensuring timely communication with the Principal Investigator and other relevant parties. The Manager will maintain a detailed log of non-compliance instances and audit action items, and will also be responsible for developing and distributing meeting minutes. The role requires the Manager to act as a primary point of contact for RECOVER investigators and site personnel, providing guidance on compliance with sIRB processes and policies. Regular educational sessions will be conducted to ensure understanding and adherence to protocols. The IRB Manager will also participate in team meetings, assist with special projects, and undertake any other duties as assigned, fostering a collaborative environment within the research community.
