About The Position

CAPTRUST seeks an Institutional Portfolios Investment Associate who will work with our Financial Advisors, Client Services professionals, Marketing colleagues, and occasionally directly with clients to scope/fulfill projects and deliverables for prospective and existing institutional clients, including pension plans, cash balance plans, endowments, and foundations. The Associate will monitor OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) institutional portfolios to ensure compliance with Investment Policy Statements and initiate trading flows needed due to rebalancing or allocation changes.

Requirements

  • Completion of a four-year college degree – Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated interest in capital markets or investments
  • 0-2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Good organization and prioritization skills; ability to manage many time-sensitive tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate well with others
  • Ability to leverage Artificial Intelligence in a professional (non-academic) setting
  • Technology savvy, proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills, includes being courteous, professional, and patient

Responsibilities

  • Collect, compare, and evaluate client-specific portfolio characteristics for compliance with Investment Policy Statements
  • Analyze and accurately initiate trade flow requests needed due to rebalancing, tactical allocation changes, or client-driven requests
  • Conduct portfolio and manager level performance attribution and summarize results
  • Collaborate with other departments to formulate and implement investment solutions based on client objectives and constraints
  • Interact with centralized trading team to ensure accurate and timely execution of portfolio actions
  • Complete client-specific deliverables, including asset allocation reviews, fund comparisons, and construction of Investment Policy Statements in a timely manner
  • Manage and prioritize significant client needs in cyclical periods of peak demand
  • Identify opportunities to enhance or improve the effectiveness of client deliverables/operations
  • Identify issues/challenges and work independently to develop relevant solutions
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
