The Institutional District Manager leads a team of Account Specialists to achieve the sales goals of the Anti-Infective product portfolio in an assigned geography. This is a complex, matrixed, account-based selling environment that includes hospitals, IDN’s, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practices. The District Manager is responsible for building a diverse, high-performing team, providing coaching and feedback to direct reports, developing and executing a district strategy that aligns with national and regional objectives and achieving/exceeding sales goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years direct District Management experience or four (4) years of successful sales experience in an Institutional Account selling role.
  • Currently meeting performance expectations and demonstrating the AbbVie Ways We Work Leadership Attributes.
  • Exhibits business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance.
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to articulate the scientific aspects of treatments and therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret national and regional strategies for sales representatives, while developing and executing a district strategy that aligns with national and regional objectives.
  • Lead sales team to achieve/exceed sales goals and execution of KPIs through clear communication, direction and follow through.
  • Ensure smooth, collaborative efforts in both day to day and long-term business execution with direct reports and internal business partners.
  • Foster a culture of business ownership and accountability.
  • Coach, mentor, educate and develop direct and indirect team members to enhance individual skills and elevate overall team performance.
  • Hold direct reports accountable to behaviors and expectations.
  • Understand and present a market and franchise/business point of view when leading teams by developing a mastery of product and disease state information, as well as pertinent Market dynamics, including patient and account access for the portfolio of products.
  • Provide direction and insights to key internal partners in the business planning process.
  • Consistently exemplify the AbbVie Ways of Working.
