An equipment installer, also known as an installation technician or equipment technician, is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining various types of equipment in different settings.

  • Install and bend EMT conduit to code using hand benders and power tools
  • Ensure proper labeling, routing, and dressing of cables for clean and professional outcomes.
  • Set up and configure equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Conduct tests to verify that installed equipment is operating correctly and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Assist with pulling, terminating, and testing structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a/fiber).
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in equipment, including replacing faulty parts and components.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, including documenting any changes made to equipment configurations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while installing and servicing equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining equipment functionality, and offering technical support as needed.
  • Coordinate with other team members, such as engineers, project managers, and sales staff, to ensure smooth installations and customer satisfaction.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Associate's degree in computer science or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and find solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail skills.
  • Physical Stamina skills.
  • Communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and supervisors effectively.
  • Efficient time management skills to complete installations within deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Safety Awareness skills.
  • A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications highly preferred.
  • At least Three (3) years of professional work experience in network maintenance and user technical support preferred.
  • Experience in equipment installation, maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional technical training or vocational certificates in relevant fields may be beneficial.
