About The Position

Sev1Tech is looking for an Installer who: Provides technical guidance and information to meet requirements. Is responsible for independently designing, modifying, and constructing electronic and electro-mechanical instrumentation used in performance measurements on test and evaluation projects. Adjusts to the design criteria (which is not always standardized or well established) Improves and updates circuit elements/equipment to incorporate new advances where existing technical data is not always adequate may be the objective. Is responsible for troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of C4ISR equipment as appropriate for the task. Has the capability to distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems. Performs installation, operations, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, exercise and test support and maintenance. Provides technical direction and guidance to lower level technicians. Plans and performs installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for communications equipment, electronics equipment. Must have hands-on or educational experience in two of the following core technical areas: electronics, network support (hardware/software), computers (hardware or software), tactical radios, satellite networks, data encryption, web-based apps, encryption devices, COMSEC, or Platforms.

Requirements

AA or 2 Yr. Technical School (2 additional years of experience as sub)
5 or more years of Installation experience
Candidate must be a US Citizen and be capable of obtaining a SECRET security clearance
Experience working with hand and power tools as these are used almost daily
Must be worldwide deployable and possess a valid US Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a valid passport within 30 days of employment
Must be able to read installation drawings and perform installations in accordance with drawings
Electronic component installation experience
Hands-on or educational experience in two of the following areas: electronics, network support (hardware/software), computers (hardware or software), tactical radios, satellite networks, data encryption, web-based apps, encryption devices, COMSEC, or Platforms
Be detail oriented to ensure proper accountability of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)
Candidates should be computer literate and able to function using the Microsoft Office suite of programs
Candidates must qualify to rent a vehicle from various national rental car agencies
Travel requirements will be up to 75% of the year to include CONUS and OCONUS locations, with the possibility of as little as 48 hours’ notice prior to a deployment.

Nice To Haves

Able to use a spectrum analyzer to perform interference and other performance tests on installed equipment
Testing using Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR)
Experience with PM Tactical Radios and/or COMSEC
