About The Position

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Pulling cable and grooming cableways. Packing Multi Cable Transits (MCT) and banding cables. Must be able to learn engineering drawings, sketches, blueprints, schematics and follow written/verbal instructions. Perform as a productive team member that meets daily goals set by the supervisor and lead. Maintain records, forms, and logs as required. Perform job duties with the use of basic hand tools such as screw drivers, pliers, wire cutters, drill motors, sand and grinding tools, etc. May instruct and mentor less-experienced team members, as assigned. Maintains safe work practices and adheres to safety policies and procedures. Ensure correct construction procedures are adhered to. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

1 -3 years of technical experience.
Must be able to follow written/verbal instructions.
Must be able to perform basic shop mathematics.
Ability to work shifts or overtime as required, must be flexible.
General understanding of metric measuring system.
High school diploma, GED certificate, or pass a GED equivalency test
Must have the ability to move extremities and spine throughout a sufficient range of motion that will permit the employee to work in a variety of postures involving a range from floor to overhead level. Flexing and twisting of the trunk and other awkward postures are occasionally required.
Must have a good dexterity and frequently use one and two hands throughout the work period for tasks involving fingering, gripping and manipulation.
Must have sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to be able to perform medium work involving heavy lifting. Must be able to safely tolerate medium demands on the cardiorespiratory system in various temperature ranges and humidity.
Include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.
Must be able to perform medium physical labor as classified by the United States Department of Labor. Physical demands typically involve lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Ability to read blueprints, shop orders, sketches, and drawings is a plus.
Experience on naval craft/vessels is a plus.
