About The Position

HouseSmart Construction, a new division within Clayton Homes, is seeking an Installer I for a hands-on, outdoor, full-time position. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in the construction industry, as no prior experience is required and extensive training is provided. The Installer I will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of manufactured home setup, working as part of a team under a Crew Chief. The position offers significant growth and advancement opportunities within a fast-growing, collaborative environment, leveraging the benefits of a large, established company like Clayton Homes.

Requirements

  • Enjoy working with your hands and being outdoors
  • Interested in starting a career in construction
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to crawl underneath homes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Positive attitude
  • Always work to be a team player
  • Comfortable with the use of hand/power tools such as hammers, levels, drills and an impact wrench
  • No experience is required

Responsibilities

  • Helping with the setup of all manufactured homes
  • Work as a team player by helping the Crew Chief and team
  • Remove protective shipping wrap from home
  • Remove and properly store exterior use items like shingles under the leadership of experienced team members
  • Work with the team to help remove tires, axles, and tongues which can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Travel to each home site and assist the team necessary construction activities
  • Load and unload materials
  • Keeping the tools & trucks organized
  • Help installer vapor barriers beneath the home
  • Gather materials for beginning piers and help build them
  • Masonry work underneath the homes
