About The Position

This role is for an Installer I, responsible for the installation of windows and doors according to manufacturer specifications. The position requires the use of basic hand tools, safe operation and maintenance of a company vehicle, adherence to installation schedules, and excellent customer service. Installers work as part of an Installation Team, handling the loading, unloading, moving, lifting, and adjusting of products. The role demands a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in window and door installation, carpentry, or a related field, including blueprint reading and experience with hand tools. Strong communication, teamwork, and basic finish carpentry and mathematical skills are essential. The position involves direct supervision, heavy physical demands, and field work in varied environmental conditions, including local day travel.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience working with hand tools such as various saws, wrenches, drill, hammer, etc.
  • 1 year proven courteous and professional customer-facing experience.
  • Effectively read standard English text and expresses self clearly and appropriately.
  • Effective listening skills, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Basic proficiency in fundamental finish carpentry skills such as measuring, cutting, and shaping wood; nailing, screwing, and gluing.
  • Familiarity and safe usage of common carpentry tools such as hammers, saws, and drills.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals in all units of measure, compute rates, ratios, and percentages; perform operations with units such as inch, foot and yard; read and interpret blueprints.
  • Advanced attentiveness to detail, problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis.
  • Know how to use a smart phone, tablet, or other similar handheld device.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of windows and doors installation experience, carpentry experience, or similar transferable experience in a related field to include reading and interpreting blue prints and windows and doors installation instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow basic installation instructions as per manufacturer specifications to complete installation of windows and doors.
  • Select and use basic hand tools to assemble, adjust and install windows and doors and trim.
  • Safely drive, secure, and maintain the company vehicle and products. Report concerns to management.
  • Verify the installation schedule and adhere to the trip plan and routing. Report concerns to management.
  • As part of an Installation Team, move, lift, and adjust the position of windows and doors.
  • Load and unload windows and doors and other products off and onto delivery trucks.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner; escalate concerns to management.
  • Perform additional duties as required and requested.
