About The Position

The POS System Installer/Field Technician will coordinate installation of Point-of-Sale systems, as well as troubleshoot problems with hardware/software and related devices and systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to use hand and power tools to install hardware
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them
  • Ability to thoroughly troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, networking, internet connectivity, intranet, or any other data communication system issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently as well as on a team
  • Must pass a pre-employment background screening, including driving record
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours/shifts
  • Must be willing to travel regularly – position is roughly 80% travel
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and technical expertise
  • Must have knowledge of: Network hardware, switches, routers, broadband modems, Windows, Cat5e, Coax, line installation, setup, & configuration, & workgroup networking

  • Customer service and troubleshooting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Installs Point-of-Sale (POS) systems at a variety of customer locations nationwide
  • Explains and demonstrates system functions and operations to end users
  • Provides onsite diagnosis, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation, configuration, networking, remote setup and support of company hardware & software
  • Ensures computer systems are running smoothly and provides maximum performance to the customer, diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software, etc.
  • Identifies common causes of trouble and reports them to management
  • Determines and executes the most cost effective resolution to minimize client down time
  • Processes timely & accurate information to ensure compliance with warranty requirements
  • Documents, responds to, follows up on, and resolves all assigned work/trouble tickets
  • Completes administrative tasks, including but not limited to: install reports & expense reports
  • Other related duties as assigned
