About The Position

Custom Truck One Source is a company that provides specialized truck and heavy equipment solutions, including sales, rentals, aftermarket parts and service, equipment customization, remanufacturing, financing, and asset disposal. The Installation Technician's primary responsibility is to perform upfitting of bodies and equipment, including modifications on trucks and truck-mounted equipment, in accordance with Custom Truck One Source standards under the general direction of the Frame Shop Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Working knowledge of 12-volt system/ electrical
  • Physical effort to move objects and tools that may weigh up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational Technical School / Military Wheeled Mechanic / OJT or related training a plus
  • ASE, Mechanics, Welding certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Custom Truck and factory standards.
  • Fabrication and installation of components related to truck equipment installations.
  • Cleans and properly equips assigned area to perform all necessary work.
  • Fabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Documents work performed.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all Custom Truck tools at all times.
  • Ensures that customers' trucks and equipment are kept clean.
  • Attends factory-sponsored training classes.
  • Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them.
  • Must refer to MSDS when using any chemicals, substances and materials, understanding the MSDS information, and abiding by MSDS required personal protective equipment. Must wear gloves, safety glasses and other PPE for all tasks requiring their use.
  • Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Disposes of used oil, grease, antifreeze and filters in the assigned location to ensure EPA compliance.
  • Attends Custom Truck safety training and follows all safety requirements.
  • Must work with and for all departments in harmony.
