Installation Technician

About the position

This is a residential security technician position covering everything around Broward County, from Deerfield Beach in the north to Hollywood/Pembroke Pines in the south. Contractor technicians will be sent to jobs in a clustered area and as close to home as possible. The technician needs to have previous experience in home security and/or CCTV installation or troubleshooting of the systems. The desired candidate will have experience with installing and servicing security monitoring systems in commercial settings. Responsibilities include working with CCTV, surveillance cameras, access control systems, card readers, and wireless keypads. The technician must be comfortable driving their own vehicle as a service vehicle will not be provided. This position expects at least 40 hours of work per week from Tuesday to Saturday. The technician should have a mechanical aptitude and an adaptive personality, maintaining 98% or better with inventory, which is collected weekly from the office. Inventory checks are quarterly, and the technician can be dispatched from home or office based on the GANT system. Training will involve 2-3 weeks of 'ride along'. The technician will be required to obtain their FASA BASA during the onboarding stage.

Responsibilities

• Install and service home security and CCTV systems.
• Troubleshoot security monitoring systems.
• Work with CCTV, surveillance cameras, access control systems, card readers, and wireless keypads.
• Maintain inventory with a target of 98% accuracy.
• Collect inventory weekly from the office.
• Participate in quarterly inventory checks.
• Drive to job sites using personal vehicle.

Requirements

• Previous experience in home security and/or CCTV installation.
• Experience with security monitoring systems in commercial settings.
• Mechanical aptitude and adaptive personality.
• Ability to work independently with limited direction.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Burg, DSC, Ademco, Brivo, IP Cameras, and low voltage installations.
• Familiarity with cabling (cat5, cat6) and programming security systems.
