Installation Technician Trainee As an Installation Technician Trainee, you’ll receive hands‑on training at our industry‑leading training center along with 1:1 mentorship from experienced trainers and senior installation technicians. This program equips you with the knowledge, skills, and certifications needed to thrive in a high‑demand field. No experience? No problem. This program is great for someone who enjoys working with tools, likes figuring out how things work, and is eager to learn new skills. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position. What You Will Do: Complete hands‑on and on‑the‑job training at our Indianapolis training center and local branch. Participate in a six‑week program combining classroom learning, networking with leaders and team members, and real installation work alongside experienced technicians. Contribute to the installation of our core automatic door product lines during on‑the‑job training. Learn and practice how to install, troubleshoot, and support customers on the automatic door systems central to our business. After the initial six weeks, return to your local branch and continue on‑the‑job training with an assigned senior technician trainer. Build familiarity with region‑specific customers and develop a strong foundation in installation and customer support. Participate in a week‑long, in‑person mid‑program training focused on advanced installation skills. Demonstrate your skills in a structured environment and receive personalized coaching from training experts. Gain targeted feedback designed to strengthen proficiency and prepare you for more complex work. Upon successful completion of the program—including earning AAADM Certification and passing the final skills assessment—transition into a full‑time T‑2 Door Installation Technician role.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Valid state driver’s license without restrictions.
  • Eager to learn and apply new skills
  • Enjoys hands-on work and using tools
  • Basic mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to lift 75-100lbs
  • Sitting while driving for periods of time up to 2 hours but not limited to
  • Standing on concrete for periods of time up to 8 hours but not limited to
  • Stooping, Crouching, Kneeling, Crawling, and twisting spine occasionally
  • Vision not limited to near, far or colors
  • Ability to work in various climates
  • Flexible work schedule is a must with the ability to work nights and/or weekends as necessary
