About The Position

A fire sprinkler system installation technician helper assists foremen (experienced technicians) in installing, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build skills in fire protection and construction trades. Core responsibilities: Assist installers/fitters with layout, assembly, and installation of fire sprinkler piping and related equipment. Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from the job site. Cut, thread, and install pipes under supervision. Help with measuring, drilling, hanging pipe supports, and preparing work areas. Load and unload materials, ensuring equipment is properly organized. Support in testing systems for proper operation and compliance with local, state and federal codes. Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Operate basic hand and power tools (examples: drills, saws, pipe wrenches, etc.) Follow instructions from foremen, project managers and supervisors. Assist in reporting issues or hazards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Prior construction experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
  • Willingness to learn installation techniques and fire protection standards.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments (heights, attics, crawl spaces, outdoors, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation (preferred).
