TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Lead Installation Technician for a 100% travel role supporting large-scale commercial low-voltage and security installation projects nationwide. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in structured cabling, conduit work, or security system installation
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Cat6, low-voltage, and telecom infrastructure
  • Ability to travel 100% of the time (M–Th or M–F depending on project)
  • Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot onsite
  • Experience leading helpers or small installation teams
  • Must provide personal hand tools: snips, scissors, punch tool, cordless drill, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test Cat6, fiber, coax, and low-voltage cabling
  • Build out cable pathways (conduit, J-hooks, racks, trays) to avoid obstructions
  • Understand and apply NEC codes for low-voltage installations
  • Install and mount security cameras, access panels, fire alarm devices, access points, and related hardware
  • Build and dress server racks, network equipment racks, and structured telecom systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and schematics
  • Lead a small team of 1–3 technicians on job sites
  • Work independently without direct manager oversight
  • Ensure each project meets quality and safety standards
