About The Position

The Installation Technician 1 position involves the timely and proper inspection, repair, maintenance, and installation of customer equipment, ensuring that customer expectations are exceeded and that the company's image as an industry leader in customer service is upheld. The role requires developing and maintaining good customer relations, compliance with company policies and safety guidelines, and performing installation, inspection, and repair of equipment in the field. The technician will work individually or in small teams and may guide less experienced Service Technicians. Accurate completion of paperwork associated with field service, repair, and installation is essential, along with maintaining compliance with operational standards. The position requires operating a service vehicle and may involve occasional domestic overnight travel for training or customer support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to five years of experience in repair and service of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Passing DOT medical exam.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, schematics, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and proper inspection, repair, maintenance, and installation of customer equipment.
  • Develop and maintain good customer relations.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Perform installation, inspection, and repair of equipment in the field.
  • Guide other Service Technicians through complex problems.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork associated with field service.
  • Maintain compliance with operation and communication standards.
  • Operate a service vehicle in compliance with DOT Driver Qualification standards.
  • Follow customer-specific requirements and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with other departments.
